Three Lodges. Ten Days. Kalahari, Okavango Delta & Beyond
For Natural Selection, I photographed three lodges in Botswana — Jacks Camp in the Kalahari Desert, and two camps in the Okavango Delta. Ten days that left a permanent mark.
My brief was hospitality photography: to show the spaces, the atmosphere, the experience — interior and lifestyle in one visual language that does justice to the place. Botswana is not somewhere you stage. You observe, wait, let yourself be surprised. That's what I try to capture in every image.

Jacks Camp sits on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans — one of Africa's most extraordinary landscapes. Late November, close to 40 degrees, the dry season drawing to a close.
And still: zebra herds, wildebeest, vervet monkeys. And a pride of three lions that joined us on game drives every single day.
Interior photography in this environment means natural light that shifts by the hour. Spaces that blur the line between inside and outside. An aesthetic dictated by the landscape itself.
The Okavango Delta — a place I had carried with me for years. Earthy tones give way to deep green. Still water, mokoro canoes, birdsong at first light.
Natural Selection's two Delta lodges merge lodge design with the immediacy of the wilderness — and that's what makes them so compelling to photograph. Every room has a view. Every terrace belongs to the landscape.
